HC Training have provided Women in Agencies members with exclusive access to two free mental health fact sheets designed to benefit agency owners and their staff. These fact sheets include key infomation about the benefits of mental health training and awareness.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist, but it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.
Hannah, the owner of H C Training, has a passion for changing attitudes surrounding mental health as well as raising awareness and reducing stigma. Her background of psychology (working with brain injured patients) and teaching in primary schools really highlighted the need for awareness of mental ill health. In teaching, Hannah saw a lot of young children with poor mental health but wasn’t confident enough to know how best to help them – even with her psychology background – so she completed her first Mental Health First Aid course and realised this was something that all ages needed awareness in.
H C Training truly believes that everyone, whatever their occupation, should have some form of mental health training so that they can spot the early warning signs of mental ill health and know what steps to take next.
H C Training’s courses will help you to learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe. You’ll also learn how to empower someone to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms.
